Dance Club

Up date : Final class June 29th will be at the Glen Eden Bowling Club.

Join Dance Club - Six free dance workshops over six weeks. Move together and share some favourite dance moves and songs. No dance experience needed just the desire to move your body. You will learn creative contemporary dance techniques, improvisation and create a dance. All welcome, no dance experience needed, all ages. Classes will be taylored to the individual needs of the group that sign up so please contact me for more information. Limited number please book for all six sessions. There is an opportunity for a public performance and/or dance for film for those interested. Supported by Auckland Council Creative Communities Scheme.

Covid restrictions will be followed depending on what level we are at at the time. Mask wearing and social distancing will apply and numbers will be limited.

Christina Houghton is an artist & choreographer that works with communities and ecology in Tāmaki Makaurau. She has a background in zoology, costume and somatic dance, teaching contemporary dance and improvisation as well as leading sensory walking experiences. She lives locally in Waiatarua and is passionate about activating the Glen Eden area and connecting to its history.
