Design your Career: A creative planning workshop + toolbox

Spend just one afternoon designing your future - and it could change your life.

Are you stuck in the wrong job? Have you been considering doing something different for a while? But don't know what, or where to start? Then this event is for you.

Designed for individuals at all life stages and career levels, we aim to help people get started. From seeking more clarity on whether your current job is right, to developing a new career path, to building a 'portfolio of work', to starting your own business - our proven methdology will give you the confidence to start moving, and a solid plan.

You’ll be joining a like-minded group of people aspiring for more from their work. The workshop is structured and expertly facilitated, and you will leave equipped with deeper insights about yourself and a plan to keep working on.

In this interactive and creative 5 hour Design Workshop you will :

• Discover you're truths: identify your values and how they are changing, your beliefs about work and the impact you want to have, your 'skills stack' and your creative ability, and map out your needs. Without this, you are searching without a compass.

• Generate three 'possible alternative futures' for yourself: Design new ideas both independently - and together - giving you a range of possibilities for how you could pivot or transform what you have into something that will bring you more sustainable value, and happiness.

• Build a Test plan that minimises your risk: We show you how to reduce the risk of failure when pivoting your career into a new direction, through creating small tests and experiments to prove if your ideas will work. Fail foward!

• Get Started: The workshop is just the start - we want you to leave with an action plan that will change your life. You will get to write an actionable, realistic work-plan that will get you moving plus decide who will help keep you on track.

Facilitated by Melissa Jenner (New Zealand's first accredited practitioner of the Stanford DESIGN YOUR LIFE programme). Melissa is regarded as a leader in New Zealand in Design Thinking and Human Innovation, and takes a personal interest in each participant. Read more about her background here.
