Event description

Description

It's common to have sadness visit sometimes; no one is happy all the time. However, if you are bothered by sadness, low mood, feeling blue or low, or irritability more days than not, it might be clinical depression. Depression is so common that the World Health Organization (WHO) says that if something does not change, it will be one of the world's greatest problems by 2020.

How we think, our habits of thinking and how we label things, has a huge impact on our mood. Our style of thinking can be a fuel for our depression.

I can teach you new ways to think so that your Depression clears up and you can feel more energetic and happy again. Most people can resolve Depression without the use of medications.

During our workshop, you will be able to better understand how your mind works and learn specific strategies that you can use to decrease depression symptoms and feel more positive. A variety of skills and strategies will be discussed. Each person will be emailed a hand out of material covered in the workshop along with resources for further study. Confidentiality will be emphasised.

Dr. Heidi Douglass is a registered Clinical Psychologist with 35 years of experience in the field of Psychology.

The workshop will start promptly at 6pm and it will end on time at 7:15pm. If you can arrive a few minutes early to settle in that would be helpful.

A plant based tea time is included in the workshop.

Space is limited to only 11 people per workshop. Pre-booking is essential. General admission ticket is $25 plus a small Eventbrite fee per workshop. Each workshop is sold separately. You can purchase just one ticket and come along to only one workshop or you can buy as many as you are interested in. There will be one koha seat available for each workshop. The workshop venue is on the East Side of Raglan. The specific address and directions will be emailed to ticket holders.

This workshop series is designed for adults age 18 and over. No children will be allowed at this event. If you are responsible for the care of children under the age of 18, you will need to arrange offsite child care.
