DRAWING (3 days)

WITH DAPHNE SIMONS

If you are looking for a crash course to learn all the basic knowledge in drawing to become more creative and improve your drawing skills, then this is the class for you.

This introduction to drawing course is great for beginners or anybody who would like to improve the way they observe objects and their everyday surroundings. Through a range of enjoyable drawing exercises, you will learn techniques for analysing and understanding this visual language.

Topics include; memory vs reality, negative spaces, lines & shared edges, tone, mark-making, media experiments, and perspective & proportion.

Observational drawing is closely connected to the basics of perception, and with practice, this class will aim to strengthen general skills such as; attentiveness, patience and improvisation. The majority of classes will provide objects and images for drawing but for some exercises, students are encouraged to bring source material (objects or images).

3-day summer course

From Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 January

Daily classes will start at 9.30am and finish at 4pm

Includes 1/2 lunch break - BYO

Total of 18 hours of tuition

Enrolment now open until 8 January
