Event Details

The session will introduce some of the key concepts in the OSSTMM security testing methodology

and then run through some hands on exercises to give the experience of applying these in a

pseudo ‘real world’ testing scenario.

 

Presenter:

Richard Feist is a member of the core team who are developing the OSSTMM , now working for

ADInstruments.

 

Venue:

Otago Polytechnic are kindly hosting this workshop. I'll advise of the actual room number as soon as it's confirmed.

 

Preparation for session :

1. Glance at the OSSTMM ( Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual ) http://

www.isecom.org/mirror/OSSTMM.3.pdf

 

2. Play with the OSSTMM Rav Calculator

3. Bring along a laptop (wireless) you can use to carry out the hands on exercises. A copy of the

Backtrack or Kali linux CD.
