About this event

🎶 Relaxed Fundraising Concert Overview

Established in 2015, SoundsWell Singers is a therapeutic choir for people with neurological conditions, including (but not limited to) Aphasia post-Stroke, Dementia, and Parkinson’s Disease. It is co-led by two NZ Registered Music Therapists, and meets weekly in a warm, supportive, and social environment. No prior choir or singing experience is needed, and support people are always welcome.

The choir has a dual therapeutic purpose and aims to address both the psychosocial needs (including confidence, friendship, community) and physical needs (such as strength of vocal production, clarity of speech, improved posture and breath control) of its members, through singing and evidence based singing related exercises. It provides a welcoming, fun, safe, and supportive environment for members and their partners / carers.

At this special 10th anniversary concert, the choir will perform a mix of well-known songs, songs from around the world, and ones they have created or adapted over the years.

Come along, show your support, and feel the transformative power of music and community.

🌟 Special Guest: Jessica Browning

Jessica Browning is an American harpist, vocalist, music therapy student, yoga teacher, speaker, and multidisciplinary artist whose music flows with the rhythm of the ocean and the depth of human emotion. After an extraordinary journey sailing across the Pacific Ocean with her family, Jessica now calls Aotearoa home. Her work is deeply shaped by the vast seascapes she’s traversed, her lived experiences, and a heartfelt commitment to healing, connection, and meaningful expression.
