Event description

Description

This online discussion provides an opportunity to explore and ask questions about best practices in infant and toddler care and education, including care-giving, curriculum, relationships and environments. Dr Vicki Hargraves (from The Education Hub) will facilitate a discussion with Lorraine Manuela, director of Tots Corner ELC and Jean Rockel, an Honorary Academic at The University of Auckland.

At Tots Corner, Lorraine and her teachers explore how the Reggio Approach can offer a new paradigm for early childhood education to provide places and spaces for political and ethical challenges including that of enacting a Pedagogy of Listening and of creating environments that both challenge and inspire children and teachers to share understanding and interpretations. Jean is a passionate advocate for the rights of very young children and continues to be actively involved in researching learning in the early years, as well as sharing her wealth of knowledge and expertise at conferences and within the ECE community.

The event will provide audience members the opportunity to not only hear from the speakers but also to ask them questions, and to join the dialogue about effective practice for infants and toddlers in ECE.
