1.5 hour workshop on recognising and responding to the commercialised sexual exploitation of children and young people in Aotearoa

About this event

General training for anyone working with children and young people who may be victims or survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

About this event: How to understand, recognise, and respond appropriately to children and young people who are victims and survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

Topics include commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) definition, what this looks like in Aotearoa, online exploitation, barriers to disclosure, and how sexual exploitation affects children and young people.

Our 2022 workshops are being presented by Claire Larsen. Claire has worked extensively with victims and survivors of sexual violence as a frontline crisis support worker and brings a wealth of knowledge with her to our workshops. We look forward to meeting you.

This is a great opportunity to get some continuing professional development (CPD) hours for free for professionals.

At ECPAT Child Alert, we provide training on issues relating to the commercial sexual exploitation of children including online sexual abuse material, underage sex work, survival sex, international sex trafficking, and domestic sex trafficking. Building off of our previous 101 workshops, we provide training on how to recognise the commercial sexual exploitation of children as well as how to respond appropriately in different situations.

In 2022 we are able to offer a number of trainings free of charge thanks to contributions from our generous funders. We provide in-person training when possible and also offer a series of new online training modules.
