Massey University welcomes students to take a look at Engineering and Food Technology with hands on workshops at the Albany village Campus.
About this event
Massey University welcomes you to take an inside look into the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Food Technology (Honours) programmes. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the world of Engineering and Food Technology with our lecturers and current students. You will get hands-on experience working in our labs with plenty of Free giveaways and fun to be had. Stay as long as you like or just pop in for a visit.
This is a free event for Year 11-13 high school students. It would suit students currently studying maths, physics, and chemistry who are interested to learn where these subjects could take them.
Students interested in Engineering
Build a 3D Printed Formula Style Racing Car - including soldering the electronics. Interact with our LoRE Robots that can be programmed to move in a designated space. Program Massey built musical keyboards, and control the robotic arm to write on paper. Work on an electronics activity to control a small DC fan using a temperature sensor. See the Degree Projects our students have been working on, as well as interacting with our students and lecturers. Students interested in Food Technology
Hands on experience making your own Paneer Cheese. Taste chilled and freshly fermented Kombucha and the microscopic examination of Kombucha cultures. Test your knowledge of food aromas with our sensory evaluation and test assorted snack food textures on the Instron Machine. Challenge and test your skills and knowledge with our sports drink computer game and make your hands messy with starch goo!
