WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
What does a typical day at Equip Conference look like?
- We gather morning and evening to sing praises to our great God and to hear his word taught
- In small groups we learn how to prepare and write Bible studies, and receive encouragement and feedback from experienced leaders
- In afternoon workshops, we also spend time thinking through practical aspects of Christian ministry such as evangelism, discipleship, youth work, personal holiness and much more
There's no better way to start the year than being grounded in God's word, equipped to serve him and his people, and inspired by a community of Christian brothers and sisters from around the country.
James de Costabadie (Costa) is the senior pastor of St John's Anglican Church in Christchurch. He and his wife Teresa came to NZ from the UK in 2005 and are grateful to God for their three Kiwi-born children. He loves his family, Christ's family, and enjoys playing cricket and reading history books, but still gains most delight when people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. He is a gifted preacher and will be speaking from the book of Luke.
Steve Chong is the founding leader of the RICE (Renewal and Inter-church Evangelism) movement in Sydney, Australia. He is passionate about evangelism, preaching and seeing people understand and use their God-given gifts. Steve is married to Naomi, and they have four children. He loves using his preaching gifts to call on people to step out in faith and follow Jesus wherever He may take them. He will be speaking from the book of Exodus.
STRANDS AND WORKSHOPS
Equip Conference is designed to be completed over three years, with delegates completing one strand each year. In your strand group, you will learn how to understand a part of the Bible and prepare a Bible study on it. At the end of the week you will have the opportunity to present your Bible study to a small group and receive feedback from our experienced strand leaders.

Anyone is welcome to join us at Equip Conference for our evening meetings and no registration is required. The meetings begin at 7:30pm and are followed by supper. Join us as we sing praises to our Heavenly Father, listen to His Word preached, and share fellowship together. It's a great way to be a part of the conference and to get a taste of what a full week at Equip is like.
