Event description

Description

Join us at our Evidence to Action conference in Wellington on 10 April 2018.

This year, we are focusing on future options for policies and programmes, research and evaluation. So join us for lively discussions about families, whanau and change.

Provisional programme:

  • Families and whanau past, present and future - Distinguished Professor Paul Spoonley, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Massey University, a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand and one of New Zealand's leading academics
  • Research with families and whanau: challenges and successes - Kataraina Pipi and Rae Torrie from Te Whiringa who carried out research with users of publicly-funded services in South Auckland
  • Capability building in the social sector - Brenda Pilott from Social Service Providers Aotearoa and Gill Genet from Careerforce
  • The future of research and evaluation in helping families and whanau - Dame Diane Robertson, former Auckland City Missioner and now a community leader and Chair of the Data Futures Partnership. Dame Diane is an advocate for delivering better outcomes for New Zealanders through the development of policies informed by qualitative and quantitative data

We have one other exciting speaker who will be announced shortly.

We promise that you’ll leave with more knowledge about how you can include family and whānau perspectives in your own work and a better understanding of how to use evidence.
