Description

‘Borders were never designed to stop everyone from moving. It’s always a matter of who is moving to where, and why...’

Join us for a panel discussion with Fair Borders? contributors David Hall, Andrew Chen, Arama Rata and Evelyn Marsters to discuss how New Zealand’s borders impact on its citizens, on recent immigrants, and on people who aren’t permitted to set foot on this land.

At a time when walls are appearing around the world - in the US and Europe especially - we face the question of what borders are supposed to do, and what we lose by making them harder. Also, who gets to define our borders, and whose perspectives are neglected in decisions about space and movement?

This event is part of the BWB Winter Series and is supported by Royal Society Te Apārangi, Creative New Zealand, and The Policy Observatory AUT.
