Fast Forward Spring 2019 | Klaus Klass Loenhart - Imagine! The City as a Living Biome

Klaus is a passionate eco-visionary, founder of terrain.cloud, terrain: integral designs, and Professor at ia&l Landlab TU Graz, Austria and considers urban agglomeration to be a living biome. He established a systemic and passionate mission for an integral and eco-based societal practice during his multidisciplinary studies at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Harvard Graduate School of Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Klaus and his teams develop and design nature-inspired decarbonisation and climate strategies, and innovative, impact-focused design solutions. With his team, breathe.austria, Klaus implemented the Austrian Pavilion at the 2015 EXPO World Fair in Milan – a natural/technological hybrid focusing on ecological and atmospheric performance. Recently they were awarded the UNESCO City of Design Grand Award.

In this talk, Klaus will present on his architectural standpoint and multidisciplinarian practice. He will speak on his work developing and designing nature-inspired decarbonisation and climate strategies as well as impact-focused design solutions for reconnecting urban society with our living environment through design innovation.
