Event description
A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY THROUGH THE MEDICINE OF THE SACRED MACA ROOT. THIS WORKSHOP WILL HELP YOU CONNECT WITH YOUR BALANCED INNER-SELF.

About this Event

For many of us in the West we are often disassociated with the source of our foods and the healing properties they possess. We lived a face-paced lifestyle with no time to stop and listen to our bodies. These disconnections leave us vulnerable to stress and stress-related conditions. For centuries the Incan people of the Andes have viewed plants not just as sources of food but as spirits that guide them to inner self-healing. Their most sacred plant and supreme master healer - maca is believed to have the ability to unlock the key healing systems of the body and return a strong and resilient balance back. To release her healing properties you need to first understand her journey, her preparation, uses and how to guide her to where she needs to go.

In this workshop you will be guided through the journey of maca connection and self-healing by a native Incan plant specialist Sally Huapaya. Sally is an educator of traditional and spiritual practices surrounding Incan medicine and culture and comes from a long lineage of Incan farmers and botanists in Peru. We will also be sharing some of the exciting new scientific research surrounding the uses of maca and its ability to unlock the endocannabinoid system of the body - presented by Dr Corin Storkey a medical researcher. Finally we will conclude with a maca elixir preparation and ceremonial consumption creating and realising intent and appreciation to kick-start your self-healing journey.

Topics Discussed:

• An introduction to maca - history, production, preparation and uses

• The four elements and their role in creating the medicine of maca
