Event description
Come along to this free workshop to hear how to design a garden that will help support native biodiversity

About this event

Do you have a spare area of your property that needs attention?

Do you dream of having New Zealand natives in your garden but are unsure what would thrive or die?

Central Auckland Forest & Bird is committed to helping native birds and insects thrive in our urban areas and we can only do this by creating more native habitats for them.

Come along to our free workshop to hear our committee member Sarah Lightbody present on how to design a native garden suitable for a variety of terrains. This will be followed by breakout sessions where you can receive advice and feedback on how best to design a garden for your specific backyard.

What to bring:

  • Pencil
  • Paper
  • Ruler
  • The dimensions of your desired garden area to be planted.

Note: this workshop focuses on garden design and is not a bush restoration workshop.
