Event Information
Description
On the last weekend of June each year, Forest & Bird holds its AGM/Conference and Sanderson Memorial Dinner.
Our conference theme is "Recruiting heroes to defend nature" and speakers include Marnie Pricket (freshwater), Adelia Hallett (climate change), Jen Miller (biodiversity), Te Atarangi Sayer (campaign for a marine reserve) and Connor Wallace (engaging teens). In the afternoon there will be a political panel presenting the parties’ conservation policies.
Attendance is free for Forest & Bird councillors. Forest & Bird members and members of the public are welcome, conference fees apply. Registration is required for all attendees.
The AGM/Conference begins with a free branch networking session on Friday 23 June from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the downstairs bar, CQ Comfort Hotel. On Saturday the event begins at 9:00am for registration and the conference opens at 9:30am. Including morning tea and lunch this runs to 3pm, when we break for afternoon tea and return for the AGM and Council meetings. On Saturday night from 6:30pm is the Sanderson Memorial Dinner. On Sunday we begin at 9:00am, at the same venue with workshops and then after lunch hear staff reports. The Conference concludes about 2:30pm.
