About this event

Join The Press and Christchurch City Council to plant 5000 native trees in the former residential red zone and help mitigate your household's carbon emissions. The trees are part of a 10,000-tree donation from Trees That Count towards Ōtautahi Christchurch's campaign to become a National Park City.

All ages welcome. Parking will be limited so please consider cycling, walking or catching the bus (Routes 7 and 60 are recommended) to the event.

When: Sunday 3rd July starting from 9:00am.

What to bring:

  • Spades and gloves if you have them - we will have a limited number available on the day
  • Covered boots or shoes
  • Bottle of water - a water station will be available on site for refills

Food will be provided at the end of the planting day thanks to Nestlé and Hellers.
