Description

Outline of the day for the Geospatial Careers Symposium

If you only attend one geographic information event this year choose this one! This is likely to be the biggest and best ever ESP event held in Auckland!

Come along to hear from some of New Zealand’s most influential Geospatial Senior Professionals. Managers of some of NZ GIS’s biggest teams will be speaking and available for you to meet in person- you never know if you will be applying for a job with them one day…

This event will involve opportunities to network with both senior Geography and GIS professionals as well as other young emerging professionals. Speakers and activities will be tailored to your interests and where you are in your career.

For students we will be having information from recruitment managers about how to make your CV stand out, managers talking about interviewing and what they look for in candidates as well as other young professionals talking about how they got their first job after university.

For those already working in the industry, we will have opportunities to learn about professional development, how to move up into leadership positions and other important areas and skills to learn about outside of GIS.

We currently have confirmed speakers Geoff O'Malley and James O'Brien from LINZ who will be discussing internships and the Geospatial Capability Committee as well as Survey and Spatial NZ with the latest info on emerging technologies in the industry!

AIESEC will also be there to run activities related to employability and soft skills as well as share their expereicnes with overseas internships and volunteering.

We are very lucky to have AUT allowing us to use their campus as the venue for this event but please note that it is not limited to AUT students. Whether you are into geography, computer science, environmental science or even geology, volcanology or stats there will be lots to interest you.

Register now to secure your spot! $14 is the cheapest conference fee you will ever find!
