Event description

Feeling the pressure increasing scrutiny and mounting regulations?

Fatigued by the thankless work, constant cynicism and relentless media assault?

Frazzled by the ever-growing risk that comes with owning rental properties?

Just about ready to throw in the towel and call it a day?

We've not come to the end of property investment, we've simply hit reset. Flying by the seat of your pants is no longer a viable strategy. Going forward, to be successful at rental property ownership, landlords must become more knowledgeable, thoughtful and prepared.

The Auckland Property Investors' Association proudly presents Get Smart! - a one-day seminar event showcasing everything a rental property owner must know in order to survive, thrive and carry on in the current market. Through a mix of industry updates and personal anecdotes, the session presenters help you answer the following questions

- What are the obvious and not-so-obvious risks I am now faced with as a rental property owner?

- What are the current rules governing rental property ownership and what further changes can I expect and prepare for?

- What do I need to know, at the very least, to avoid being hassled or even penalised by the Tenancy Tribunal, the Tenancy Compliance & Investigation Team and the IRD?

- How do I do right by myself and my tenants without compromising the growth and return of my rental property portfolio?

- How do I build up a trustworthy team of advisors who will help me along the way?

- How do I pick up the slack and make the necessary tweaks and changes so that I am investing smarter while minimising my risks?

- Am I unwittingly breaking any tenancy or tax law? How do I fix things up before it becomes too late?

- What tweaks can I make to invest smarter while minimising my risks?
