Event description

Description

In today’s high stress society, children face more pressures than ever before. As parents we need to ensure that our children are not only physically well, but also mentally well, to cope with whatever life may throw their way. The cornerstone of having great mental health, is being resilient. Emotional resilience, in our children, means that they are able to face and overcome challenges and problems, become brave, and cope with real life stresses big or small.

Come and see Educational physiologist, Kathryn Berkett, unpack the neuroscience surrounding what it is to be ‘emotionally resilient’. You will begin to understand why our children sometimes ‘meltdown’, and gain practical strategies to handle these moments in a calm manner.

Kathryn has her Masters in Educational Psychology and is also a certified Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. She has been training audiences since 2007 and has a unique ability to engage audiences, convey complex information in an easy-to-listen to, easy-to-understand way.

This event will be held in the school hall and all proceeds will be going towards our Junior school playground.

There will be coffee and tea provided. Some food items available for purchase (gold coin donation) during the evening.
