Event description
Together we uncover the many stories, celebrated and woven into the essence of various Taonga-toi that reflect a rich Māori identity.

About this Event

Whakamanatia, a Kaupapa Māori community group led by Grayson Goffe, will guide a hikoi (walking tour) that highlights Māori public art, architecture and design that defines our city centre. Original research for this hikoi stems from the public art publication, Te Paparahi, Toi Māori - Walks in the City, a free printed booklet & phone app.

Together we uncover the many stories, celebrated and woven into the essence of various Taonga-toi that reflect a rich Māori identity.

Exploring mātauranga (knowledge systems), themes, representations, embedded deep within Te Ao Māori and reflected through an artistic, urban, architectural, contemporary presence within Tāmaki Makaurau.

You will be meeting in the ASB Waterfront Theatre - Courtyard.
