Dr John Green is an internationally acclaimed expert in Safety II – an approach that changes safety management from “avoiding things going wrong” to “ensuring everything goes right”.

This afternoon workshop will explore the key concepts and practise of Safety II, drawing on Dr Green’s experience of successfully operationalising it for multi-national construction giant Laing O’Rourke. He was central to translating Safety II concepts into initiatives that significantly reduced injury rates at the firm’s Australian business. Dr Green will share the lessons learned by Laing O’Rourke – what worked and what didn’t, including the programmes and tools he used.

John Green is HSEQ Director at Laing O'Rourke's European hub. He is a director-level risk professional with considerable experience in the oil, petrochemical, aviation, utilities and electronics industries, both in the UK and overseas.
