Here, everything was aglow - and everything was connected by a web of invisible thread… and this morning, a new strand - fine, but still perceptible - pulled lightly at her heels…
Lewis Vivian Cosgrave (Ngāti Pūkenga, b.1997) is a Te-Whanganui-a-Tara based artist primarily focused on the experience of the quotidian, a life found along concrete pavements and inner city gardens, his works blend an interest in painting, drawing and photographic practices. Cosgrave works to find intentional reticence through the alteration of collected and personal archive imagery. Erasing, saturating and muddying with a refined sense of surface and delicate use of colour, arriving eventually to a space that grants us momentary reflection on the ordinary rhythms of daily life.
A short story by Lucy Clara accompanies the show.
