About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

You are invited to our Parakuihi Pakihi session at Ngāmotu House. Join us for kawhe, (coffee) kai and kōrero (discussion).

Risk is everywhere in business. It’s omnipresent. The list of types of business risk is lengthy and probably overwhelming. Our brain dump of possible business risks resulted in 64 types of risk. In our short time together, we’ll show you the list, break it down and narrow it to the ‘most likely’ risks you could encounter and discuss some strategies for effective management and mitigation of those risks.

Dion will cover areas of strategic risk, IT and cyber risk, business interruption and continuity risk, health and safety risk, and financial risks such as cash flow, interest rates, and reporting. He’ll look at compliance risks such as dealing with IRD, privacy and being a director of a company.

Tracey will highlight a few key and frequently encountered human resources risks and steps you can take to minimise your risk. Documentation and legislation; tackling the small, the big and the ugly issues; workforce planning, employment engagement and consultation; and best practice to mitigate your risks.
