Everyone using a health and disability service has the protection of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights. The Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service is an independent, free, and confidential service. Advocates provide a free complaint resolution service, and will support or guide you to express, and try to resolve your concerns with the provider of a service. An advocate also support consumers to self-advocate and raise concerns themselves. Advocates promote awareness of the rights of health and disability service consumers by providing free education sessions to consumers (users of a health or disability service), those providing health and disability services, and community groups. Emma is an advocate in the Auckland area who will host this session on the Code of Rights, and will be available to answer questions you may have.
The session will be held at Kate Edger Information Commons (315), City Campus on Level 1in room 315-101.
