Description

Heroic buildings Wellington - Public Lecture

The built environment faces a number of challenges in a low carbon and sustainable future. The need for quality buildings is greater than ever, so what does this mean for the future of Wellington, those buildings within it and planned for.

Come along to this free event and hear from some of the leading voices in Wellington on the future of Wellingtons built environment.

We can build heroes - raising the bar in Wellington and New Zealand

Hans-Christian Wilhelm, Senior Lecturer at the University of Architecture, VuW, will look at the bigger picture of energy and buildings, criss-crossing between 50 degrees North (Germany) and 41 degrees south (New Zealand) before having a closer look at the main aspects contributing to the energy footprint associated to buildings. Finally it takes snapshots of ways towards net zero, from legislation to lifestyle.

Patrick Arnold, eCubed Ltd. A number of significant buildings are proposed in Wellington and New Zealand. Patrick will describe how they are raising standards for performance and well-being of buildings, and responding to environmental issues.

Site 10 PwC Centre - Wellington's next heroic building

Elzine Braasch, Aecom
