About this event

The Greater Bay Area is located in southern China within the region where the Pearl River meets the South China Sea. The area consists of nine cities in mainland China together with the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions.

With a land area of some 56,000km2 and a population of around 72,000,000 the GDP stands at USD1.68 trillion. That GDP number approximates to that of Australia (USD1.4 trillion) or South Korea (USD1.6 trillion) – and it’s not standing still!

Development of the GBA is a core strategy of China’s development programme and aims to leverage the key strengths of each city in the region.

This online seminar will introduce the GBA and examine its core attributes with a focus on opportunities for New Zealand business.

TechStyle section will cover topics, including academic collaboration; research and development; manufacturing; equipment development; design; textile production; textile sourcing; business opportunities; and more.

Guest speakers include business leaders from Institute of Textiles and Apparel Ltd (HKRITA) Polytechnic University of Hong Kong; and Esquel Group.

Seminar will be moderated by David Whitwam, Chairman from New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
