* For Hospital staff only: Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) RNs as there is a different training module.
The programme will include the Ko Awatea LEARN Subcutaneous Fluids & Medication module. RNs are required to complete the NMH practical competency session and NMH on-line subcutaneous medication course for full NMH competency.
The competency and update workshops provide the knowledge and practical skills required to manage a subcutaneous syringe driver in the practice setting and a knowledge of medicines for end of life symptom management. Successful completion of a practical assessment and a written test is required for certification.
Facilitated by Nelson Tasman Hospice, the programme will include the Ko Awatea Learn subcutaneous medication package. NMH staff are required to complete the NMH practical competency session and NMH online subcutaneous medication course for full NMH competency.
