Housing Matters: 2017 Exemplar Homes Industry Tour

25 May, 8.30am-3.30pm

New Christchurch homes that showcase sustainable, innovative and affordable design

Full day tour with lunch provided

For architects, designers, planners, builders, developers, and other building professionals.

You are invited to look through five of the most innovative new homes in Christchurch and talk with the designers and project managers about the key features of each home. These homes showcase energy and water efficiency, modern construction methods, and are part of the Superhome Movement. The Superhome Movement is a cluster of building professionals aiming to deliver 1000 high performing homes through collaboration and sharing.

Join this inspirational bus tour and meet with other building professionals in an enjoyable and open learning environment.


Programme

8:25am Leave from English Park, 127 Cranford Street, Christchurch

9.00am – 9:45am Tour through 124 Bowhill Rd, New Brighton - An ultra low energy beachside home bursting with innovation. Presented by Z Build and Nook Architects (then board the bus for the next stop...)

10.00 am – 10:45am Tour through 61A Blake St, New Brighton Classic style with natural cedar and Metra Panel walls. Presented by Fusion Homes

11:00am – 11:45am Tour through 402 Madras St, Christchurch Central A small, expertly crafted townhouse, sustainable and energy efficient. Presented by Coll Architecture

12:00pm – 1:30pm Lunch and discussions at local Café

1:40pm – 2:30pm Tour through 26 Holmwood Rd, Fendalton Elegant and sustainable home with Warmframe walls. Presented by Dan Saunders Construction & Anne Salmond, Salmond Architecture.

2:30pm – 3:10pm Tour through 14 Jane Deans Close, Riccarton - High performance luxury SIPs panel passive Superhome. Presented by Bob Burnett Architects.

3:30pm Arrive back at English Park

Book early! This special industry tour is limited to 45 people and tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis.

Housing Matters is a series of workshops and site visits in Canterbury which aims to bring investors, designers, developers, builders, researchers, regulators and planners together to share information, explore case studies, develop opportunities for collaboration, and focus on solutions for quality housing development in Canterbury.

You can do the tour using private transport – see programme... But the bus is more fun and gives you a chance to discuss what you are seeing between houses... it's the peer learning that Housing Matters is famous for...

Can I get NZIA CPD points for this event?

You can, the event is worth 40 CPD points, don't forget to sign the register of attendance on the day.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

You can transfer your ticket to another attendee. Please contact us or let us know when you sign in if you are transferring the ticket to someone else.

What if I want to cancel my registration?

Tickets are fully refundable up until Monday 22nd May, however there will be no ticket refunds after this date. You may transfer your ticket to someone else without charge at any time. Contact: glendal@beaconpathway.co.nz if you would like to cancel your registration or have any issues to discuss.
