Description

What is the Integrated Data Infrastructure, and how can it help us measure the impact of Oranga Tamariki services on children and their families?

A ninety-minute seminar featuring two presentations; one about the Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure and the other about the tangible impact linked data is having on the Family Start programme.

Speakers: Anna McDowell is Senior Manager for Integrated Data at Stats NZ. Anna will provide an overview of what the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) is and how Stats NZ manages it. She will cover a brief history of how it began, how Stats keeps the data safe, the kind of insights researchers are gaining to help New Zealand, and where to next.

Davina Jones is Manager of the Evaluation Team within the Oranga Tamariki Evidence Centre. She has a strong research interest in what works for those with multiple and complex needs. Paul Arts is the Oranga Tamariki Pa Harakeke team leader. Their presentation will look at what we know about Family Start to date and the different types of evidence that will be used to evaluate Family Start. They will also discuss the tangible impact linked data is having on the Family Start programme.

This is the fifth in a series of seminars hosted by the Oranga Tamariki Evidence Centre Te Pokapū Taunakitanga. We partner with a range of social sector agencies to present current research and thinking.
