Event description
Seminar and panel discussion with HRC review committee members and successful applicants from the University of Waikato

About this Event

This event is for University of Waikato staff and currently enrolled PhD students only.

There are many different sorts of Health Research Council awards available. Early career researchers in particular are encouraged to look at some of the smaller funds, to establish a track record with HRC and become known to peer reviewers. The project grant funding round usually opens in June and researchers of all career stages with health outcomes for their work are encouraged to consider applying. This seminar and panel discussion is to help you start thinking about your proposal. This will be followed up by a workshop on 22 April where you can bring your idea along for discussion and receive helpful tips from previously successful applicants.

Dr Robin Olds, HRC Chief Executive for 7 years, will tell you what you need to know to apply to the HRC with confidence. Dr Joanna Hicks will share her experience and answer any questions having sat on an HRC grant review committee for the past 2 years (both EoI and full stage). Dr Apo Aporosa is a HRC Pacific assessor on both Career Development Awards and Projects.

RSVP to be sent a Zoom link closer to the time.
