About this Event

All University of Auckland doctoral candidates are warmly invited to attend this workshop hosted by Dr Peter Lee in partnership with the School of Graduate Studies. Peter is looked to by companies and individuals to improve their innovative capabilities and realise the full potential of their ideas. This workshop is designed for early-stage doctoral candidates, however, all doctoral candidates at the University of Auckland are welcome to attend.

The objective of this workshop is to help you improve the productivity and impact of doctoral research by providing a comprehensive set of skills to help you build value in your research from the beginning. You will learn about principles and other related skills for innovation in the context of doctoral research in New Zealand.

The workshop would include:

  • A New Zealand context for academic research
  • Where good ideas come from
  • Networking among people and organisations
  • Change and the importance of agility, improvisation and options
  • Entrepreneurship
