Event description

Description

Join OMEP Auckland to hear well-known advocate for children's rights in Aotearoa New Zealand, Dr Sarah Te One.

This interactive presentation will look at how we can use our working theories to advocate for children and their rights.

Starting with the global overview, Dr Sarah Te One will provide a child rights framework for advocacy at the local level. There will be two themes:

- What makes an effective advocate?

- How can we use global expertise to influence local practices?

Dr Sarah Te One is the Chair of ACYA, Aotearoa NZ’s Country Focal Point for the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. She has been an advocate for children’s rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child for many years, combining her research with her professional practice in the early childhood education sector.
