This practical hands-on introductory workshop is for anyone new to and wanting to learn more about working with Crown Property data and other Geospatial Information.
It is not intended for existing Geospatial Practitioners.
In relation to Geospatial Information, the purpose of this workshop is to:

Raise awareness

Develop capability

Increase its use
After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

Understand and describe geospatial concepts such as layers and geospatial relationships

Find and access useful, relevant datasets, in the right format.

Apply a range of simple tools like online maps and simple desktop visualisation tools.

Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of the opportunities and benefits for their organisation.

Requirements

Participants will need to bring their own laptop and a mouse (essential).
At the workshop participants will need to be able to:

Connect to the LINZ open Wifi

Access a Google account using the Chrome Browser

Have Google Earth Pro Installed.
