Description

India New Zealand Business Council presents it's end-of-year event, on Cricket, Diplomacy and Business.

As part of our India Unplugged speaker series, we are proud to present two leaders: One in Cricket and the other in Diplomacy & Business.

We will have a robust discussion around the theme:

Cricket Diplomacy, Business and Leadership

The speakers will speak about their experiences and interact with the audience on the finer points of leadership and business as well.


Speakers:

Hon Peeni Henare

Minister for Whānau Ora, Youth and for the Community and Voluntary Sector

Hon Peeni Henare is the Member of Parliament for Tāmaki Makaurau, and is of Ngāti Hine and Ngāpuhi descent. He is the Minister for Community and Voluntary Sector, Minister for Whānau Ora, and Minister for Youth, as well as Associate Minister for Social Development. Prior to politics, Peeni worked as a businessman, broadcaster and teacher.


Dipak Patel

Cricketer, Former Black Cap

Kenyan-born Dipak Patel had the ambition to play Test cricket and he left Worcestershire to emigrate to New Zealand where he could believe, greater opportunities lay. Dipak has played 37 Tests and 75 One Day Internationals for the New Zealand cricket team. He is the current spin Bowling Coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League for 2018. Since retiring in 1997, he has coached at a provincial (first-class) level in New Zealand, notably for Central Districts and the New Zealand under 19 team.
