Introducing Guest Speaker Sam Stubbs
Coming down from Auckland for the evening we have guest speaker Sam Stubbs who is a real disrupter in the Kiwisaver industry with his newly launched Simplicity Kiwisaver.
Simplicity is a new kind of KiwiSaver plan that aims to charge the lowest fees by removing expenses, commissions, overheads and profits. It a non-profit Kiwisaver and estimates on average it will save the average kiwi $65,000 by retirement. This can mean a HUGE difference to your employees, your loved ones and yourself.
Sam Stubbs was most recently the CEO Of Tower Investments, a KiwiSaver default provider. Before that he was Managing Director of Hanover Group, and spent 10 years working for Goldman Sachs in London and Hong Kong. He previously worked for Natwest Markets, Fay, Richwhite and IBM New Zealand.
He has been a Board Member of the Financial Services Council, and a member of the Government Taskforce on Financial Services.
Sam has an MA (Hons) from the University of Auckland. He is the father of two children and dreams of Simplicity and sailing around the world.
From their website: “The six largest KiwiSaver plan providers currently have over 85% market share, and the four largest are Australian owned. We think profits for KiwiSaver managers are around $150m now, and could be $1.3 billion by 2030. High profits and stable market share means there is little incentive for existing schemes to reduce fees. Kiwis have little choice but to pay up. Until now…”
Sam will share insights from his journey including sharing learnings from his new focus of being an industry disrupter, taking on some of the giants of the finance industry.
Grab your tickets now, and we’ll see you on Wednesday 7th December.
Ordering tip: An automatic tax receipt will be sent when you order. If you select that you are "A Business" the system asks for your IRD number (and it must include hyphens). Instead you can choose "An Individual" and you can still receive a tax receipt in your business name, but you don't have to insert your IRD number.
