About this event
Intentional Peer Support online core training - THE FIRST PAY-PER-SEAT ONLINE CORE TRAINING DELIVERED IN NEW ZEALAND
This is facilitated once a week in a 4-hour online session over 10 consecutive weeks. This training is delivered by IPSANZ, the approved Intentional Peer Support hub in Aotearoa. Each participant, on successful completion of the course will receive a core certificate in Intentional Peer Support which is internationally recognised in the peer support sector.
Sessions will take place every Tuesday from: June 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th then July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and August 3rd and 10th from 12-4pm NZDT
Attendance is required at 9 of the 10 sessions to be considered completed and to receive the core certificate.
FACILITATORS: Hannah Whittaker-Komatsu and Saskia Ymker
Participants will learn the IPS tasks and principles in a highly interactive environment. We will explore ways to create mutual relationships where power is negotiated, co-learning is possible and support goes beyond the traditional notion of “service”. The core training is for anyone interested in mutual support and has been used widely internationally as a foundation training for people working in a peer support setting.
