Inter-Me (new year 9's workshop)
Event Information
About this Event
Hey there!
Are you the parent/guardian/relative/friend of a year 8 student who is about to graduate and head to college?
Perhaps they are feeling super excited and have a great bunch of friends going to the same school ... or maybe, they're feeling not so confident, and you may be a little worried about how they'll settle in. You might even be somewhere between these two places.
12 and 13-year-olds face all kinds of new pressures and are in the midst of navigating one of the most socially-diverse times to be going through school.
Wherever they are in their journey, there is no doubt that with starting a new school, comes a new range of challenges, expectations, social circles, pressures, and more. The systems are different, the networks shift, the opportunities expand and the pressures get higher academically and socially. It's a crucial age to feel good in their own skin so they feel empowered to take on whatever the college world presents to them.
This is why 'Inter-me' is happening, just before the 2021 school year starts! It's going to be a hugely memorable and invaluable time for new year 9 students, and I'm so excited to bring this to them!
No matter what their background is or how 'ready' they feel, the children will learn about themselves on a deeper level and be equipped with foresight and some key tools and ideas that will help them embrace their new adventure with compassion for themselves and others.
It's going to be fun, explorative, interactive and a great chance for every child, no matter how vocal they are, to have a voice and find that inner confidence that will lead them into college feeling the best version of themselves!
