International Indigenous Employment Symposium-Napier
Mon, 28/11/2016, 4:00 PM – Wed, 30/11/2016, 3:00 PM NZDT
We are holding a symposium to showcase people, organisations and initiatives from Canada, Australia and New Zealand who are having success in achieving Indigenous employment and self-employment outcomes. The symposium will bring together businesses and employers, service providers, training providers and key people who can support job creation and employment outcomes to professionalise the employment services sector, inform innovative practice and strengthen employment outcomes.
The symposium aims to help participants:
- learn new ways to improve Indigenous employment and self-employment outcomes
- develop sustainable partnerships; and
- create opportunities to buy and sell tools, resources and strategies to improve professionalism in the employment services sector.
We are seeking attendance from employment service providers, education and training providers, business development service providers, businesses (Indigenous and non-Indigenous), employers (Indigenous and non-Indigenous), tribal and Indigenous organisations, government agencies, philanthropic organisations and community organisations.
We have an amazing line up of practitioners and leaders coming along to share their knowledge and experiences. Regardless of whether you are an employer, you are providing employment related services, or you have another role in achieving employment outcomes, the speakers will both inspire and equip you to achieve better results.
With a focus on practice and action, we will be showcasing, unpacking and celebrating proven approaches to achieving better employment outcomes, with and for Indigenous people. We will learn from each other how we can get better results by harnessing the relationships, resources and tools that are available to us across our communities and across our countries.
