Presentation: By Tony Eid, Executive Director. Future Network Delivery, Sydney Trains
Sydney’s Rail history is rich of dedicated men and women who manage one of the most complex railways in the world. The journey to modernise and simplify our railway and apply the latest technology has been occurring over the last 30 years. From improving signalling, procurement of modern trains and improving the customer experience.
One other area is managing the day to day operations, keeping Sydney moving. On Thursday, we explore train control, lifting it from where we were with multiple control centres to a purpose built ROC that consolidates all aspects if day to day and customer management into the ROC.
Tony’s career in railway spans more than 38 years, during which he has been a member of two benchmarking organisations Nova/Comet for 15 years and a former ISBeRG Chairman for 2 years. Tony holds a wealth of world best practice rail industry knowledge and is an internationally acclaimed and trusted transport leader. His experience covers signalling, operations, train control, train planning and incident management and he has examined global benchmarking performance and compared best practice.
