Event description

Description

Tēnā koutou,

Women in Urbanism is partnering with Panuku Development Auckland on the first of their Henderson themed Speaker Series.

We warmly invite you to join our discussion on: “Is Henderson Town Centre the new model for families?”

Our speakers will be informing the room about new developments coming to the area including the improvements to walking and cycling.

The intent is to create a stimulating and productive korero about the town centre’s past, present and future. As part of this speakers will be taking into account:

  • the delivery of a more accessible and inclusive town centre;
  • the impacts of the changes for health and wellbeing;
  • the importance of the changes for our most vulnerable users (like our children!);
  • climate change and sustainability

Our wonderful speakers (who we thank enormously for giving up their evening) include:

  • Tessa Meyer (of Panuku and Women in Urbanism)
  • Cr. Penny Hulse (Who will be our MC)
  • Kathryn King (the bicycle Queen of Auckland, and the Walking, Cycling and Safety manager at Auckland Transport)
  • Miranda James (Head of Corporate Responsibility at Panuku and responsible for getting 6 homestar rated buildings into our development agreements)
  • Vikki Ham Kaiwhakaauaha Punaha (Maori Systems Innovator) at Healthy Families Waitakere
  • Yana Kirakovskaya – lives locally and experience creator of Silent Disco Henderson Edition (if you missed out there will be another in 2019!) from Papaya Stories

The networking for this event starts at 5.30pm. We will start the presentations at 6pm.
