ISO/TC211 Outreach Seminar | Geographic Information Standards in Action
Date and time
Location
Lecture Theatre 2, Rutherford House
33 Bunny Street Wellington 6011 New ZealandDescription
Throughout the week of 27 November 2017 New Zealand is hosting the world’s pinnacle standards-setting body for geographic information and services. ISO standards enable location data to be consistently conceived, modelled, described, discovered, accessed, shared, and trustfully re-used.
The International Organisation for Standardisation’s (ISO) Technical Committee 211 (TC211) is convening its 45th Plenary Meeting in Wellington. The plenary is preceded by workshops and project meetings which will engage visiting experts from more than 20 countries.
This is the first time TC211 has convened in NZ. TC211’s visit has been coordinated with a meeting of the Open Geospatial Consortium’s (OGC) which is also meeting in NZ for the first time. OGC’s meeting will be held in Palmerston North in the week beginning 4 December.
