Event description
Fundraising screening to support Wellington Zinefest

About this Event

Come and support a local film AND Wellington Zinefest at this screening of James & Isey, the new documentary by Florian Habicht.

99-year-old Isey lives with her adult son James on their small farm in Kawakawa, New Zealand. They are descendants of Ngāti Manu – the Bird People. Isey is turning 100 in a week. In their unique relationship, James has devoted the last 20 years to looking after his mum. He is a tohunga and brings the spirit world onboard to get her over 100. A joyous celebration of the sacred and everyday aroha.

Wellington Zinefest is purely volunteer-run at the moment, and money raised by this screening will help support our ongoing work to hold events for the zine community.

6pm start

Tickets are $20

Bonus: From 5:15pm we'll have a selection of zines for you to buy! All $ from zine purchases will contribute to the fundraiser. Come early and find us in the upstairs space of Lighthouse Cinema on Cuba.
