Event description

Description

Women in Urbanism invite you to join walking tour guide Alex Bonham and urban planner Ellie Craft for a walk around central Auckland. We will consider how the streets and spaces we take for granted were originally formed and how they could change again. We will share some stories, insights, and urban planning tools, you bring your imagination and a pencil. Over two hours we will redesign six spots in the city to make them work better for everyone. Departs from Ellen Melville Hall Friday 14th September at 4pm and Saturday 15th September at 1.30pm. Bookings essential. Cost-Free. :)

Note there is a relevant Festival of Architecture event that begins an hour before each Jane’s Walk at our starting location (Ellen Melville). Freyberg Place and Ellen Melville Centre – Profile of a Project – The Inside Story” hosted by Lisa Spasic, Senior Project Manager at Auckland Council tells the story of the women-led award-winning upgrade project. Women in Urbanism’s Jane’s Walk will begin immediately after.
