Jazz Academy 2024

This is a FREE 2 day event for all Secondary students (Year 10+) who have an interest in studying a Bachelor of Music specializing in Jazz with The University of Auckland. It is taking place at The University of Auckland City Campus over two days, Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of August 2024.

Te Whare o ngā Pūkōrero Pūoro School of Music offers two half-days of performance workshops and rehearsals over a weekend, culminating in a live performance for friends and whanau. Previous attendees have already successfully auditioned and been accepted to the Jazz specialization program at the School of Music. Key information for participants below:

• The day starts at 10am on Saturday 3rd August 2024. Please plan to be seated and ready to start the day 15mins before then.

• We recommend bringing a packed lunch as options to purchase lunch are limited on weekends in the CBD.

• The school will provide: pianos; double bass guitars; drum kits and base amplifiers.

• If you are a singer, please bring your own microphone and microphone leads. Otherwise let us know by email if you require one. These are available on request.

• Drummers please bring your own cymbals and hihat clutch.

• If your instrument requires an instrument lead, please bring this along with you
