About this event

Join us for a weekend of ensemble and musicianship training with some of New Zealand's leading jazz artist-teachers and postgraduate musicians from the University of Auckland School of Music. These sessions will end with a concert for your whānau.

Attendance at this workshop is free, but registration is essential and spaces are limited!

Who should attend:

If you are a senior secondary school student (year 10+) and are interested in applying to study the Creative Practice: Jazz specialisation at the School of Music, these workshops are for you.

To learn more about studying at the School of Music, please visit the Bachelor of Music (BMus) page.

Schedule and location:

Each session will be held from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm on Saturday, 20 and Sunday, 21 August. Participants are required to attend both sessions.

The Jazz Academy will take place at the University of Auckland City Campus in the jazz studios of the Kenneth Myers Centre - entry via the side entrance to the building (loading bay) through the double doors.
