Saturday 16 March 2019

9.00am – 10.00am
Morning Movement Mantra Class
A ‘wake up’ movement opportunity to tune in the mind, body and spirit! You’ll move through a series of “movement metaphors” that reflect the experience you wish to receive over the weekend and prepare for the day ahead.

10.00am – 11.00am
Building a Support System for the Pilates Teacher
Pilates teachers are generally enticed into this career through the concept of helping others feel better in their own bodies. Sometimes this desire to help can come at the expense of our own health and well-being. In this workshop, participants will explore a tried and true strategy for developing personalized systems to support their work in a way that translates to overall health and longevity for their career.

11.00am – 1.00pm
From the Foundation UP
The benefits of proprioception in a movement practice are endless. Embodying a sense of knowing where we are as well as what movement choices are available to us is a key element to balance, resiliency and our spatial relationships. In this movement-based workshop, participants will explore the body’s relationship to gravity within the Pilates syllabus and how to strategically work with this powerful force, not against it. Get ready to move, feel and create a new relationship between your body and the world it lives in!

2.00pm – 4.00pm
Branding Your Teaching for a Successful Practice
A workshop that focuses on marketing/messaging and vision for the independent Pilates Teacher as well as the Studio Owner.

4.00pm – 5.00pm
Closing Movement Session

Sunday 17 March 2019

9.00am – 10.00am
Morning Movement Mantra Class
A ‘wake up’ movement opportunity to tune in the mind, body and spirit! You’ll move through a series of “movement metaphors” that reflect the experience you wish to receive over the weekend and prepare for the day ahead.

10.00am – 12.00pm
Variations on a Theme
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to differentiate movement strategies to expand your perspectives about what’s available to you within the Pilates work. Through the deconstruction of a spectrum of exercises from multiple Pilates traditions, we’ll determine their benefits, purpose and geneology. From there, we’ll work without judgment to broaden the range of options that are available for each teacher to better meet their clients’ individual needs.

12.00pm – 1.00pm
The Pilates Mind
“One of the major results of Contrology is gaining the mastery of your mind over the complete control of your body.” – Joseph Pilates, Return To Life

Joseph Pilates understood the power of embodied consciousness surrounding one’s physical existence and a practice that bettered its form, function, and relationship with the world. The Pilates world has embraced the movement element of this practice wholeheartedly, however, there is much that we have learned about the influence of the mind since Joseph Pilates’ time. In this workshop, we’ll explore how we can better understand the mindset of our clients to help them achieve a practice that serves them fully. Through specific investigative strategies, cueing skills and neuroplasticity tools, we’ll develop a stealth toolbox of teaching techniques that will help our clients take their work outside of the studio and into each aspect of their lives.

2.00pm – 4.00pm
Pilates and the Digital Age
How to supplement your income while you sleep.

4.00pm – 5.00pm
Closing Movement Session
