Home Birth Canterbury is delighted to present Kāhuarau: Pregnancy, Birth and the Making of a Mother.

An afternoon of information and inspiration for anyone interested in pregnancy, birth and the early months of life. This very special event brings together expert speakers in maternal mental health, physiological birth, infant microbiome, infant development, breastfeeding and includes our special guest speaker Matilda Green, a home birthing Māma, who reminds us all of the positive impacts of making courageous decisions as birthing people.

Organiser of Kāhuarau: Pregnancy, Birth and the Making of a Mother

The Canterbury Homebirth Association (CHBA), in existence since 1976, is a voluntary organisation that promotes and supports home birth as an alternative to hospital birth. The Association provides support and encouragement to those contemplating home birth and also supports midwives offering home birth in Canterbury.
