Kathryn Berkett - Teacher PD: Impact of Trama on Learning

A must attend for teachers!

This workshop will cover how trauma can impact the development of the brain, including understanding concepts such as neuroception, intergenerational trauma and sensitisation. This will all be covered in language that is easy to understand and apply to your current situation.

Recognising how impactful trauma can be on behaviour is the first and most vital step towards a more biologically respectful way to implement support.

Kathryn is a mother of two young adults. She has a Masters in Educational Psychology and is a certified NMT Practitioner. Kathryn has been working around trauma-informed practice, and training national and international audiences for over twenty years; working with groups such as Police, Teachers, Parents, Social Workers, NZRugby and many more. She has a Podcast: “I’ve Got Questions” and also has a TEDx talk: “Neuroscience of Device Zombies”
