Welcome to the Hospice New Zealand (HNZ) Syringe Driver Annual Update.
You are now booking in for the Syringe Driver Annual Update which will be delivered on-site at Kemp Home on Monday 21st February at 1pm.
This is a refresher course for registered and enrolled nurses working in aged residential care and community settings. The update workshop is a one hour presentation that covers the theory, practical knowledge and skills required for managing a syringe driver.
Learning outcomes for HNZ annual syringe driver update
Following this training participants will:
1. Be able to assess patients for suitability for a syringe driver
2.Understand their professional, clinical and legal responsibilities
3. Gain an updated competency in setting up and troubleshooting syringe drivers
4. Gain an updated competency in calculating medications and knowing their actions and effects
5. Develop communication techniques for use with colleagues, patients and whanau
A certificate will be issued once you have completed attended the update session.
